Welcome back, guys! Well....I guess YOU never went anywhere (wink). So, welcome ME back. Can you believe it's be a LONNNNNNGGGGGGGG year?! But...we are finally at the end of 2020. And I don't know about you...but it "seems" as if our "2020 vision" went right out the window THE MINUTE Kobe Bryant died...and the Coronavirus came alive...and the next thing we know, we're in the fucking house like our parents told us to get our asses inside before the street lights come on. So, it goes without saying that this has been a VERY DIFFICULT year...for everyone. Challenging. Trying. And with all these obstacles thrown at us this year like working from home, wearing masks, giving up our "normal" social/love/sex lives, SITTING with ourselves 24/7...we have made it through. And it hasn't been easy. So, first let me start this post by saying...Congratulations!!! Give yourself a pat on the back. Because this may or may not have been one of the TOUGHEST years for you. You deserve a glass of wine. Matter of fact, drink the whole bottle, girl.
Then, grab your journal. Grab a pen....and keep reading.
I decided it is time to take my love for writing beyond these posts. Outside of "Dialosophy", writing is near and dear to me. You can find me often journaling...writing my own poetry....writing out my fantasies...or jotting down all my ideas. Writing has been a part of my life since I was a young girl...and to put the icing on some DELICIOUS red velvet cake... it's been a way I've manifested EVERYTHING I wanted.
Dia, say what?
Yes, manifested. I'm talking the Law of Attraction. It's quite simple. The Law of Attraction (I HIGHLY recommend Master Sri Akarshana's Youtube Channel!) is the belief in our ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focus on. In addition to writing, some people may use vision boards, visualization, meditation,;etc. It can be whatever you need to translate whatever is in your mind and materialize it into reality. In this post, however, we're going to focus on writing. Because even "the good book" notes:
"Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who runs may read it." -Habbakuk 2:2 (World English Bible).
I am all about manifesting my goals through writing...writing EXACTLY what I want...writing EXACTLY how I feel...or how I WANT to feel....setting goals....writing out DETAILED steps to meet each goal...and not holding back...ever. It's been a God-sent. And the feeling of reaching a goal and then going BACK to see where you wrote it down days, months, or even YEARS (yes, I said years, too!) is indescribable. But, if I may....it's rewarding, validating, affirming....and in short, you feel like the baddest bitch alive.
I want you to feel that, girl. And I want you to close this chapter of 2020, going into 2021 confident that you CAN achieve whatever it is you set your heart after...no matter how big or how small. I want you to forget about what your friends on social media are doing...or who's getting engaged...or getting married....or having kids...or succeeding in therapy....or starting a new business...or going back to school. I want you to spend the rest of this month focused, writing, and manifesting what YOU want to see in 2021. And that starts with going within.....into your mind....and into your heart.
Boom. Let's talk about the writing.
I've encountered a number of people and friends who says journaling isn't easy. It can be difficult to just quiet your mind and spill onto pages...especially when they're so many thoughts to work with in the first place. This is where journal prompts come to play.
I want us to learn about the part of our selves we saw in 2020. I want us to write freely and openly, but rule #1 is....you HAVE to tell your inner critic to shut the fuck up. I mean literally tell homegirl she has to GO when you start writing. The prompts I will share to get you manifesting is a means to serve as your STORY, not a narrative you HAVE to stick to...or reasons to feel bad about yourself. So, remember:
- Don't be hard on yourself.
- Take your time, and don't "force" yourself. If you're able to take time to do this every day this month...great. If you skip a day...or two...or a week....fine. It's only 10 questions, and it was my goal to make it just enough to get you thinking and planning BEFORE the new year.
-Try to be as detailed as possible. I am a firm believer that FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD....AS HELL. So, sis...please don't write "lose 15 pounds" and think just because you wrote it down, it's going to happen. You writing it...is only the beginning. Whatever you set as a goal, needs to be followed up with HOW you plan to achieve it, in order for the universe to grant it to you. And it's important to note here...that just because YOU are specific....doesn't mean the universe may or may not have other (and sometimes....BETTER *smiles*) plans.
-Don't hold back or try to edit what you write/say. If you feel the need to say, "2020 was the muthafucking devil"...then say "2020 WAS THE MUTHAFUCKING DEVIL" (because it was). Journal prompts are to be used, so that (once again) you don't judge yourself for what you write. Just let the words flow.
And as you flow....by the end of this month, I hope these journal prompts help you identify your abilities and shortcomings in 2020, your authentic self, you inner complexities, what you're grateful for, and how you can be the best 2021 version of yourself.
So, once again...congratulations, love....Merry (early) Christmas...and happy manifesting. I hope you fall in love with your light and darkness over the rest of this month and you get excited about whatever obstacles, opportunities, and possibilities 2021 has in store.
