My insecurities. My truth. My story.
It's time to pump. it. up. We have spent a month working on letting go, forgetting our past and our burdens, and blah blah blah...and now it's time to start living! So what have I done on my day 1? I woke up this morning (I've finally gotten 9 hours of sleep WITHOUT any sleep aid), took a long hot shower, rejuvenated my face with a facial (Queen Helene's Mint Julep Facial Mask, $4, Walmart), danced to Michael Jackson "Thriller", and started my morning with writing and a devotional. Ah, I even ate oatmeal this morning and that's new because since the beginning of this semester I've either skipped breakfast, ate a croissant from our campus coffee shop, or ate some sort of junk food. The point is... I think one of the most important things we can work on this week is establishing a solid morning routine. It's been proven that "highly productive" people have a set routine each morning. Now what works for me may not work for you. But find what works this week, use it, and let's get pumped.
My New Morning Routine
-Shower/Brush Teeth/Wash Face/Get Dressed
-Daily Devotional & Writing (I am currently reading Joyce Meyer's "The Confident Woman Devotional", Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life", and Meera Lee Patel's "Start Where You Are: A Journal for Self-Exploration".)
-Pray (Maybe praying isn't for you...maybe you haven't found WHO to pray to...maybe guided meditations will be your thing...but whatever you believe in....CONNECT in the mornings)
Once again...what may work for me MAY NOT work for you. But find your routine and as I've been saying lately ...you gotta make sum shake. :-)
I've "excited my life" this morning by also searching some fun things I'd like to this summer when I'm in St. Louis for my summer research internship. Join me friends...summer is coming and I don't know about you, but Dia is coming...and I'm gon make sum shake. :-)
